Dr. Michelle Sgalia received her B.A. in Biology from Albion College in 2004 and earned her D.D.S. from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2008. During her time at the University of Michigan, Dr. Sgalia was the recipient of numerous awards including the Albert G. Richards Award in Radiology, the Raymond L. Hayes Award in Endodontics, the American Academy of Oral Medicine Award, the Caulk/Dentsply Award in Removable Prosthodontics, and the Russell W. Bunting Award in Periodontics. She also served on the executive board of the University of Michigan Dental School’s chapter of the American Association of Women Dentists, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honorary upon graduation. Dr. Sgalia’s professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, the Oakland County Dental Society, and the South Oakland Study Club. She lives in Bloomfield Township, MI with her husband John and daughter Mia. In her spare time, Dr. Sgalia enjoys spending time with her family and friends, volunteering for her daughter’s school activities, and traveling. Dr. Sgalia strives to provide the highest quality care to each patient and looks forward to working with the patients of Birmingham Dental.
